Nasir Bello v AG Oyo State

The plaintiff was convicted of armed robbery and consequently sentenced to death by the High Court. However, he had appealed to the Court of Appeal and while his appeal was still pending he was executed. The Supreme Court held that the execution was unconstitutional, a breach of the plaintiff’s right to life and fair hearing subject to section 33 and 36 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
